[163]
He probably arrived in Philadelphia on 5 Sep 1803 on the ship "Charlotte". Strassburg says he and wife and four children. Also on the same voyage was Ludwig Harpel and his wife and five children. The Harpel name was Herpel and Hoerpel: see page 13 of Rhineland Emigrants, 1985, by Don Yoder. He applied for land at the Steubenville Land Office on 23 May 1818, #7024, at S22 T14 R5 in what is now Washington Twp, Carroll Co, OH. Frederick, Sr. and Jr. along with Conrad and Peter all paid taxes in Washington Twp in 1833. Between 1833 and 1840 he moved to Rose Twp, Carroll Co, OH. Frederick is listed in the 1840 Carroll Co Census in Rose Twp age 60 to 70. Old spelling is Harpell or Harbel. When his stone was still legible it was read as F. Harble died 29 Mar 1851 age not legible. The stone was a yoked stone with his wife's probably similar to their daughter's, Elizabeth Finefrock.

possibly or in the Pfalz.

Jacob and Elizabeth were killed during an Indian attack on Fort Seybert and all six children were captured. The children were eventually released 1761-64. Coincidentally Jacob's brother Wendel had two children captured by Indians in an attack at Berks, County, PA - at about the same time.[Seibert-Gale Judkins.FTW]

in the Fort Seybert massacre. Charlie BEVERAGE found records showing the names of all the SEYBERT children, except Nicholas, when they were prisoners of the Indians in OH following the raid on Fort Seybert.
