Joey FLESHER JAHANT 29 Mar 2009
Chalice Lighting today at the Unitarians
In honor of Mary EDWARDS FLESHER Joey mentioned her love of learning, her love of books, and her pioneering spirit. She told about how Mary gave Edgar E. FLESHER precious 100 year old books in 1930 and how she read the Bible through when she was 12. Her father, a Bishop in the United Brethren Church, gave her a Bible as a reward. Joey said how Mary loved learning so much she kept her son's (Joey's grandfather's) report cards from 1880-1883 in Lexington. Then Joey mentioned how Ray and she Joey had tracked Mary through her life through the marvels of ancestry.com and the census. Joey told how they hadn't found her grave and finally found it in South Haven, MI, thanks to volunteers who had taken pictures of every grave in Van Buren Co.
